Living Outside of Ordinary: Week of 7/1
In the past month, how many days can you truly remember? On average, a few days, 4 or 5 if you’re lucky, stand out from the daily routines we all experience. That’s why Visit Champaign County is launching our new “Living Outside of Ordinary” Campaign aimed at residents and visitors as a means to encourage everyone to discover new places throughout the greater Champaign County area.
Each week, we’ll give you one thing to do each day, something Outside of Ordinary, to make sure you have a way to make each day memorable. We’ll be busy brainstorming over the next year to make sure you have ways to break out of the routine and immerse yourself in the amazing things happening right in your backyard. Some will be events, but others may be something as simple as getting outdoors, meeting a friend for a drink, or checking out a new store or restaurant. The goal is simple: when you’re Living Outside of Ordinary, you’re making memories, so we can all cherish each and every day.
The 4th is on everyone’s minds this week, but in the greater Champaign County area, there are ways to find things to do any day of the year!
Monday, July 1 – Grab a Where’s Waldo passport at the Jane Addams Book Shop and hunt for the red and white styled icon in the windows of local businesses in downtown Champaign!
Tuesday, July 2 – Use blueberries, strawberries, and bananas to make a red white and blue crepe from Paris Super Crepes to celebrate Independence Day week!
Wednesday, July 3 – Rent a Tandem Bike from Neutral Cycle and give it a go with a friend!
Thursday, July 4 – Spend Independence Day doing whatever makes the day Outside of Ordinary for you! Fireworks, food, or whatever feels right!
Friday – July 5 – Head to Allerton for Reds, Whites, and the Blues for red and white wines, and great blues music!
Saturday, July 6 – Enjoy Tuscola’s Sparks in the Park, with family activities, food, music, and of course, fireworks!
Sunday, July 7 – Check out the new brunch menu at Flying Machine Avionics, with new specials every Saturday and Sunday.
