Visit Champaign County Promotes Community Pride through Fall Campaign

Visit Champaign County is launching a new campaign, “Your Places. Your Spaces. Our Community.” to encourage residents to share their favorite experiences in the area.  From restaurants to shops to parks and attractions, the destination management organization is wanting to see and share photos and video directly from area residents.

Up to eight submissions will be selected to be featured in future marketing such as the annual Champaign County Area Experience Guide, on billboards, in advertising and promotional videos, and on the website. Winners will receive a professional photo shoot at one of their favorite local destinations, as well as a community t-shirts and a gift card to a local business.

“The greater Champaign County area has so many wonderful destinations to visit, but it’s important that we recognize those places that are important to those who call this community home,” states Terri Reifsteck, Vice President of Marketing and Community Engagement for Visit Champaign County. “Through this campaign, we’ll see those places that make the community proud and learn about our residents’ authentic experiences.”

Residents of all ages, backgrounds, demographics, and abilities are encouraged to share photos and/or video of themselves enjoying their time out and about in the community. “It could be a couple enjoying date night at a local restaurant, a family playing in a park, someone shopping in a local boutique or picking up their favorite local ingredients, students out on Green St., or empty nesters enjoying area arts and culture. Whatever activities bring you joy in the greater Champaign County area, we want to see,” says Reifsteck.

Residents can submit their photos or videos online at or by tagging @visitchampaign and using #ourcommunity on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or TikTok. Submissions will be accepted through November 15 and winners will be notified by December 1. Photos should include the participating individuals in the photo.
