Join The Virginia Theatre for the exciting workprint premiere of a suspense feature film shot right here in Central Illinois with production locations in Champaign, Rantoul, and Kickapoo, and created in partnership with Flyover Film Studios. Written and directed by Champaign resident Vijay M. Rajan, and produced with many cast and crew members from Illinois, this is a chance to see a locally made film before it heads off to the festival circuit and eventual distribution.
Dark Soul River is a psychological thriller in the vein of The Silence of the Lambs but with a multicultural twist.
The notorious Kaw Valley Killer claims he will finally tell where his as-yet-undiscovered victims are buried -- but there's a catch. He will confess only to the brother of his last victim. Now, Saarathi, a devout Indian Hindu who came to America only to settle his sister's affairs, finds himself in an intimate and horrifying confrontation with evil. Over five days of an intense cat-and-mouse game, devastating secrets are unearthed. Twisty, multicultural, and psychologically haunting, Dark Soul River is an unforgettable emotional ride.
