If your spring plans involve baskets, bunny hops, and the thrill of spotting a shiny golden egg before anyone else, this one’s for you. From downtown shop-hopping (with eggs at every stop) to flashlight-fueled night hunts for grown-ups—and of course, all the kid-centric ones in between—here are the egg-hunting events popping up around the community.

Hop-N-Shop

Thursday, March 26 | 5–7:30pm | Downtown Monticello

An egg hunt…but make it shopping. Start by grabbing festive bunny ears, then “hop” business-to-business for one-night-only treats. Every purchase earns you an egg to open (with a special incentive or gift inside), plus a raffle ticket for each purchase—so your shopping bag might come with bragging rights.

Spring Egg Hunt at Dick’s House of Sport

Sunday, March 29 | 10:30am–2pm | Dick’s House of Sport, Champaign

A storewide egg hunt with eggs filled with candy, coupons, and surprises—and you can show up anytime during the window. No age requirement, so bring the whole crew (one coupon per purchase, if you score one!).

Bunny Meet & Greet

Sunday, March 29 | 1–3pm | Dessert First, Tuscola

Hop by Dessert First for a fun Easter bunny meet & greet! When you meet the Easter bunny, each family gets to pick a mystery egg from his basket — and every egg contains a special discount token inside! The bakery will be stocked with spring treats and seasonal favorites, so it's the perfect time to stop in and grab something sweet.

Treehouse Spring Soiree

Sunday, March 29 | 2:30–5pm | The Treehouse Retail & Play Space, Champaign

Crafts! Cupcakes! Golden eggs! An outdoor egg hunt split by age group (1–3 and 4–8) with prizes, plus a spring craft, cupcake/cookie decorating, a bubble party, and open play. Parents: there’s even a dirty soda bar.
Heads up: registration is required in advance—no walk-ins. $20/child and space is limited to 16 kids.

Hop Into Spring

Kick off the season with spring games, prizes, and fun—easy, cheerful, and built for a classic family evening out.

Bunny Hop

Thursday, April 2 | 5:30pm | Vineyard Community Church, Urbana

This one’s packed: inflatables, touch-a-truck, pizza, eggs, and age-based egg chases—and it’s all free.

Nite Lite Egg Pursuit

Friday, April 3 | 8–10pm | Location TBA

Bring a flashlight and your competitive spirit for an ages 18-and-up egg hunt with eggs filled with prizes—plus bronze, silver, and gold eggs that can win bigger prize packages. Pro tip: don’t be fashionably late; the eggs go fast.

Easter at Aikman Wildlife Adventure

Saturday. April 4 | 10am–4pm | Aikman Wildlife Adventure, Arcola

A full-day Easter bash with an egg hunt featuring 2,000+ eggs, a bounce house, yard games, a jungle gym, and a petting zoo (feed cups extra). Activities are included with regular admission. Limit: 10 eggs per child.

Annual Easter Egg Hunt

Saturday, April 4 | 10–11am | Forest Preserve Park, Monticello

For serious egg hunters: 5,000+ candy-stuffed eggs plus special prize eggs. Two age groups (4 and under with parent help, and 5–10). The Easter Bunny will be there for photos. Free, no registration—just don’t be late because it ends quick!

Eggstravaganza Egg Hunt

Saturday, April 4 | 10am–noon | West Side Park, Champaign

One of the biggest hunts in C-U! Free, ages 10 and under (divided into age groups). Bring your basket—and check the Rainout Line if weather looks questionable.

Easter Egg Hunt at American Legion Post 559

Saturday, April 4 | 1–3pm | William F. Ernest American Legion Post 559, Champaign

A classic afternoon egg hunt—come help the Easter Bunny track down those hidden eggs!

Easter Brunch Buffet

Sunday, April 5 | Noon–2pm | The Crossing, Champaign

Brunch and an egg hunt? That’s a solid Easter combo. Enjoy the Crossing’s Easter brunch buffet, then take the fun outside for the egg hunt (plus photo ops with the Easter bunny). You’ll also get access to the arcade at Jupiter’s, and kids 12 and under score a 25-credit game card. Tickets for the event are $45 for adults, $20 for kids 12 and under.
