Five Ways to Celebrate Dad this Father's Day Weekend
Father’s Day weekend is a great way to show dad that you care about him! The father figures in our lives shape us in priceless ways, and it’s the least we can do to make them feel special when this weekend rolls around every year. If you’re looking for some inspiration, there’s plenty to do in the greater Champaign County this weekend, some of which is specifically themed around that special guy in your life.

At the Wabash Depot, you can take Dad and walk to many shops and restaurants around Monticello’s Courthouse Square! Did we also mention Dads get to ride FREE with their children? IF DAD LOVES LIVE MUSIC...
MUSIC AT ROSEBOWL TAVERN
Good music, cold drink, great people: If this is dad's thing, then he'll love the Rose bowl Tavern! On Father's Day Weekend, genres like jazz, country, and modern Americana will be on full display. There's also a variety of Domestic, Craft, and Draft beers, plus ciders, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages as well. If you would like to check out the musical line up during Father's Day Weekend, check out their website here.
POOLSIDE FUN AT SHOLEM AQUATIC CENTER
If you're looking for a family-fun activity that doesn't require basking in the heat, bring Dad over to the Sholem Aquatic Center for a fun-filled Father's Day Celebration! With a lazy river, 3 water slides, and plenty of space to lounge about, nothing says "stress-free" more than a dip in the pool on a hot spring day. Did we mention that Dads get in FREE with a purchase of child admission?
IF YOU’RE NOT QUITE SURE WHAT DAD WANTS TO DO…
LET DAD PICK!
The best option when it’s unclear what to do for Father’s Day is to let Dad choose the plans for the day. Check our events calendar for weekend happenings, or just go out to one of our parks or a movie! There’s no wrong way to celebrate the father figure in your life, so long as you are together!
