Democracy isn't only shaped at the ballot box. It's shaped wherever people gather to ask difficult questions, listen to one another, and imagine a different future. Women+ on the Edge of Democracy invites communities to spark those conversations in theaters, libraries, schools, community centers, and public spaces across the country.

Illinois Professors Geovonday Jones, Kirsten Pullen, Libya Pugh, Angela Pinholster and Lisa Dixon will join with Spinless Books’ William Gillespie and student Maryrose Jones for an evening of play readings as a part of the Women+ on the Edge of Democracy project. Join us to read brand new original 10-minute plays written by Lynne Nottage, Dael Orlandersmith, Erika Dickerson-Despenza, Lauren Gunderson, Beth Henley, Kimber Lee, and many others! Then hang out afterwards for conversations and books.
