Helpful Tips for Parents
In an effort to make visiting your student at their new home as easy as possible, we have a few helpful tips to make it less stressful:
- Dad's Weekend (November) and Mom's Weekend (April) are high-demand times for hotel accommodations typically with sell-outs in Champaign-Urbana area hotels. We recommend you make your reservations as soon as possible, and after year one, make your reservation for the following year when you check out. Here is a complete list of all area hotels. If you need assistance finding a reservation, contact our office at 217-351-4133 as we maintain a list of available reservations for peak weekends.
- While your student is early in their college career, graduation will be here before you know it. It is strongly recommended that you make your reservation for graduation a year in advance. Find future graduation dates here, and put in your calendar to make your reservation at the conclusion of the previous year's ceremonies.
- While visiting your students should provide its own fun, we put together our recommendations of Top Things to Do in Champaign County for College Parents. Need more suggestions? Let us know!
