As the temperatures rise and the days grow longer, it’s time to plan your summer splashes! Here’s a roundup of public pool openings in the Champaign-Urbana area for summer 2025.
Urbana
Urbana Indoor Aquatic Center
Location: 102 E Michigan Ave, Urbana
Open all year round
M–F: 6–8am | 11am–1pm
During public swim, the water spray toys and water slides are turned on. Lap swim times are for individuals age 15 and up who wish to swim for exercise.
Crystal Lake Park Family Aquatic Center
Location: 1421 N Broadway Ave, Urbana
Open May 24–late August

Champaign
Sholem Aquatic Center
Location: 2205 Sangamon Dr, Champaign
Open May 24–August 10
M–F: 12–7pm | Sa–Su: 11am–7pm
Sholem is jam-packed with features guaranteed to make a splash: a zero-depth pool with play-and-spray features, an 8-lane 25-yard lap pool, a kiddie pool with slide, a tube slide that’ll send you into the lazy river, and enclosed body slides (must be at least 42” tall to ride).
Tuscola
Ervin Park Swimming Pool
Location: Tuscola (Northline Road and Main Street)
Open May 24
M–Sat: 12:30–7pm with adult-only swim 11:30–12:30pm | Sun: 1–7pm with adult-only swim 12–1pm
The pool is a large surface area (100' x 60'), full depth (3' 8" to 12' deep) main pool area with a 30' x 40' diving well equipped with springboards and a 72' long water tube slide. Additionally, the area features a wading pool for small children, a pavilion seating area for picnics, Tropical-Sno shaved ice operation, and vending machine concessions.
Monticello
Monticello Aquatic Center
Location: 601 W Railroad, Monticello
Open May 26
M–Sun: 12–7pm
This facility boasts a 25-meter competition pool, diving borders, a water slide, and a zero-depth entry pool!
Paxton
Paxton Community Pool
Location: 601 S Fall St, Paxton
Open Hours: TBA
The opening is delayed due to pump repairs. Updates will be provided by the Paxton Park District!
Arthur
Arthur Community Swimming Pool
Location: 120 E Progress St, Arthur
Open May 26–mid August
Sullivan
Sullivan Civic Center
Location: 600 N Washington Street, Sullivan
