As settlers first came to an area known simply as "Big Grove" in the 1820s,
a community began to form. In 1833, the new city of Urbana would be chosen
as the county seat. Much like its sister city, Urbana was shaped by the railroad
and entrepreneurs who built their businesses in the heart of downtown.
As the community nears its 200th anniversary, it has changed much,
but it surprisingly retains many of its historic buildings.
The tour travels around a mile and takes approximately an hour.
All participants should wear comfortable walking shoes.
We ask that guests park their vehicles in the parking lot surrounding
the Lincoln Square Mall. We will meet at the center of the mall to begin the tour.
The tour will start at the designated start time so please plan
to arrive at the museum at least ten minutes before the tour is set to begin.
Tickets:
General Admission $15
Museum Members $10
