Come join us for a listening room performance by Gloria Roubal
Gloria Roubal is a singer, guitarist, songwriter, recording artist, and occasional theremin player. Her original music is under the umbrella of pop/rock with varied influences such as Sheryl Crow, Fiona Apple, Jonatha Brooke, and many others.
She has performed in and around the Champaign-Urbana community for many years in bands, duos, and solo. Past bands and duos include G. Lee & Jet Blonde, Paul & Gloria (with Paul Sabuco), and The Double Dots (with David Howie). She has recorded 5 CDs since 1997: “Charm” and “Crashing Into Your Room” with G. Lee & Jet Blonde, “Somebody Should” with Peter Roubal, “Acoustic Renderings” which is an EP of acoustic versions of 5 of her songs, and “Lime Drop” with Paul Sabuco (“Paul & Gloria). She is currently working on a new 12-song recording project at High Cross Sound in Urbana with Anthony Gravino, Ian Shepherd, Jesse Brown, and a few other guest musicians. She plans to release this by the latter part of 2025.
She currently performs live solo shows at local venues such as The Rose Bowl and Huber’s (and very occasionally with Jason Finkelman in their experimental improv duo, Sea of Stars), and is also the organizer and host of the Writers in the Round series, a songwriter showcase featuring Gloria with three other songwriters sharing the stage and taking turns playing and talking about their songs. These shows occur every 2–3 months at The Rose Bowl.
