Dance at Illinois will host the Experimental Dance Film Summer Intensive from June 9-13, inhabiting the spaces of Jack Baker Lofts and Margaret Erlanger House. On Wednesday, June 11, the intensive will be screening Anna Sapozhnikov’s choreographic work, Good House Keep, with documentation by Laura Chiaramonte, at Fire Doll Studio, 29 E Main St, Champaign, IL 61820, in association with the film intensive and Krannert Art Museum’s exhibit, Making Place for the Arts at Home, Performance and Midcentury Modern Architecture.

 

Good House Keep is inspired by and created to be performed in midcentury modern spaces. Chiaramonte’s documentation of the May 1st performance in the galleries of Krannert Art Museum offers an inside look at the work, up close and personal. Chiaramonte follows the dancers as they weave in and out of the space, each other, and the camera.
