Inspired by the memoirs of burlesque artist Gypsy Rose Lee, Gypsy tells the story of “Mama” Rose, an overbearing stage mother attempting to thrust her two daughters into stardom on a dying vaudeville circuit. When her younger daughter runs away, Rose focuses all her energy on her oldest, Louise, who unexpectedly rises to fame as burlesque star Gypsy Rose Lee. The show explores family, ambition, and the pursuit of stardom. Featuring classic songs like “Everything’s Coming Up Roses," “Let Me Entertain You,” and “If Momma Was Married,” Gypsy is often regarded as one of the greatest musicals of all time.
