Maurice Ravel's Gaspard de la Nuit follows, a virtuosic triptych inspired by dark, fantastical poetry. Ondine shimmers with the hypnotic song of a water nymph, Le Gibet conjures a ghostly gallows scene, and Scarbo races through a fiendish, nightmarish scherzo. The program concludes with selected Transcriptions by Sergei Rachmaninoff, showcasing Hobson's technical brilliance and expressive depth.
