Join us as we explore downtown Champaign's history through an in-depth look at some of Champaign's historic theaters. While the Virginia Theater remains the area's only operational theater downtown Champaign has seen its fair share of theaters, opera houses, and movie theaters. Some might be easy to spot while others have been long lost to history. This tour is perfect for those interested in general Champaign history and the arts as we take a look back at theatrical productions and shows of the past.

The tour travels around a mile and a half and takes approximately 2 hours to conduct.
We ask that guests park their vehicles in the police station parking lot to the North of the Champaign County History Museum as the lot is not metered on the weekends. We will meet at the CCHM to begin the tour.
The tour will start at the designated start time so please plan to arrive at the museum at least ten minutes before the tour is set to begin.
