Dr. AJ Lauer's author event is officially scheduled for
October 23rd at 7:30pm. 
 
Her book, My Monster Mungo: A Story About Imposter Syndrome, uses relatable characters, humor, and engaging illustrations to present a fresh new way to think about the dreaded imposter syndrome — your Imposter Monster. It's a picture book for adults where readers join Katy as she learns how to overcome her perfectionism with the help of her friends and Imposter Monster.

When Katy “blows” a presentation at work, she’s sure she’s doomed, until her friends reveal they all wrestle with similar doubts. That’s when Katy meets that unhelpful voice inside her head — her Imposter Monster, Mungo: a shaggy, sharp-toothed protector who means well… but keeps her small.

Over a weekend, Katy and Mungo explore what imposter syndrome really is, why it shows up, and how to work together instead of against one another. Mungo develops from a loud inner critic into a supportive sidekick. Along the way, readers meet diverse characters — each with their own Monster — who reveal how widespread these feelings are and how identity, culture, and expectations shape them.
