Karen Simms, a nationally recognized speaker, trainer,
and presenter will talk with students.
The topics of discussion will range from trauma, trauma-informed care,
building resiliency, addressing the root causes of community violence,
positive youth justice, coalition building, cultural and
gender-responsive practices, to integrated care and wellness.
This event is part of Parkland College's observation of
Black History Month in February. With the theme
"African Americans and Labor," the college will explore
historical and contemporary African American accomplishments.
Events are open to the public unless otherwise noted.
