The first in a three-part series on Strategic Media Relations for
businesses and nonprofit organizations.
In this introduction to strategic media relations workshop,
attendees will gain insights regarding general news and trade
media (print, video, broadcast, web, outdoor); be introduced
to basic media relations terminology and meanings;
discuss how and why media influences awareness, perceptions,
and behaviors; be introduced to fundamental strategic media relations
principles and how they can be leveraged to build awareness, as well
as deepen understanding and engagement, with key stakeholders
(i.e., customers, donors, members, volunteers, investors,
influencers, members of the public, etc.).
Participants will gain a deeper understanding of media
and how to be more discerning media consumers.
This is the first part in a three-part series on Strategic Media Relations
with local media and communications expert Bill Whitman, Jr.,
who has served as a trusted advisor to FORTUNE 100 corporations,
government agencies, community service organizations,
institutions of higher learning, philanthropic foundations,
and countless others.
