Learn how to use bark patterns and buds to identify “naked” trees
(without their leaves!) at an Arboretum “Naked” Tree Hike on
Thursday, March 26 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at the
Illinois Arboretum (1800 S. Lincoln Ave., Urbana)*.
Extension Educator Ryan Pankau will lead students on a short hike around
the Arboretum to identify trees native to Illinois and discuss various qualities
of these awesome plants. The focus will be on wintertime identification when
trees are “naked” – using buds, bark and other attributes.
$10/person**. Register here.
Registration will close March 24 or when capacity is reached.
All sales are final.
Limited metered parking spots are available in the lot near the Noel Welcome Garde
n and along South Lincoln Avenue. Additional metered parking is available
in the lot south of the Japan House.
