Avâye Jonoub is an evening of live music celebrating
the diverse musical traditions of Southern Iran.
Blending folk melodies, rhythmic storytelling,
and contemporary performance, the concert presents
the sounds and cultural memory of the Persian Gulf
region through an immersive live experience.
The program features music rooted in Southern Iranian
heritage while drawing connections to Persian classical
traditions and broader regional influences. Through voice,
instrumental performance, and rhythm, the concert highlights
themes of migration, community, celebration, and cultural continuity.
The performance features Mohammad Khodadadi, a musician,
composer, and singer from Bushehr whose artistic work combines
Southern Iranian folk music, Persian classical traditions, and
contemporary composition. Educated in music composition
in Austria, he has studied Ney performance, Persian Radif,
voice, piano, and conducting with distinguished masters
and has spent many years researching and teaching Iranian
musical heritage. Joining him is musician and accompanist
Shahab Aledavood.
