IttyBittyBikeShop opened in June, 1985 as a tiny 2\' x 2\' corner of That\'s Rentertainment (an independent video store on the University of Illinois campus in Champaign-Urbana). Back then, there was no place in the immediate University of Illinois campustown to buy tubes, lights, lube or even a patch kit. Champaign County Bikes, the local bike advocacy group, put out a challenge to the community to open a bike shop in the area. While we didn’t do that, we did dedicate a small corner of our store to basic bike gear and called it the IttyBittyBikeShop.
In 2015, when That\'s Rentertainment closed, we moved our tiny corner-shop into a full-size retail storefront, sharing a space with Parasol Records (located at 303 W Griggs Street, Urbana). Since then we have been growing and expanding our services and products offered - finding our place within the wonderful cycling community of Champaign-Urbana!
