Father’s Day weekend is a great way to show dad that you care about him! The father figures in our lives shape us in priceless ways, and it’s the least we can do to make them feel special when this weekend rolls around every year. If you’re looking for some inspiration, there’s plenty to do in the greater Champaign County this weekend, some of which is specifically themed around that special guy in your life.

World War II B-25 Bomber Rides and Tours 

June 17-19, 11 a.m. 

Ever wondered what it feels like to ride on a twin-engine World War II bomber aircraft? EAA Chapter 29 Champaign, IL is hosting the World War II B-25 bomber, named "Berlin Express" from June 17th through the 19th. Take Dad out for the thrill of a lifetime, or you can experience a ground tour from 2-5pm each day. This is a ticketed event, and spots will fill up fast!

FATHER'S DAY TRAIN RIDES

June 18-19, 11 a.m

Take Dad on a trip back in time through a relaxing and scenic historic train ride to Monticello on board vintage rail cars.You can walk through the display cars and view many pieces of rolling stock, as well as visit the Museum's gift shop. At the Wabash Depot, you can take Dad and walk to many shops and restaurants around Monticello’s Courthouse Square! Did we also mention Dads get to ride FREE with their children? If dad loves LIVE MUSIC...

MUSIC ON MAIN

June 18, 12 p.m 12 a.m.

A whole day of food, beverage, and live music in downtown Monticello! To kick off the day, from Noon 2 PM, local restaurant 3 Ravens is hosting Emily Hough, an area contestant of The Voice! Bring Dad to this downtown staple and enjoy the best selection of Irish whiskey in downstate Illinois, as well as over 150 whiskeys, bourbons, and ryes. From 4–6 PM, downtown Monticello opens up with live music from Michael Dean Lewis, Bad Medicine, and 90 yard drive. Further more, there will be an outdoor refreshment area starting at 4 until midnight! 

IF DAD LOVES CRAFT BEER…

ARTIST ALLEY CONCERT SERIES, POUR BROS. TAPROOM

June 18, 8:30 p.m.

The Artist Alley Concert Series takes place every Saturday night throughout the summer. It’s free to attend and the style of music changes almost weekly. Bring Dad for a craft beer and some great local music!
